At the other end of the spectrum, my preference is to use cash for all possible purchases. I should disclose that I don’t own real estate or automobiles, and don’t have any debt. I don’t get the benefit of card points, but cards have hidden costs and risks and I believe that those exceed the opportunity costs and other risks incurred when using cash.

For those that use PayPal, they offer a cash back debit card, only 1% back though.

I’m not a huge fan of debit cards because of the time value of money and secondly they don’t have the strict credit laws like they have for credit cards. My g/f on the other hand swears by them. Personal preference really.
