This edition is a few days late as I have been on the road visiting family across the state. I am still on the road but I still had time to read most of the sites I frequent in order to dig up some of the posts I enjoyed this past week.
The Fireplace Myth – Why Fires Can Cost You Hundreds – As we approach the winter season here in most of the U.S. many homes use fireplaces as an additional source of heat. Personal Finance Advice takes a look at how it can end up costing more money to start a fire, and ways to save.
Money Gifts Better Than Cash, Better Than Things – Consumerism Commentary takes a look at money gifts that are like cash but better.
Forbes Money Meter – BFP found a fun little tool on Forbes that will show a graphical meter of your income and compare it to a number of famous or wealthy people.
Fees and Financial Planners – JLP had a question of the day regarding fees and financial planners and there is a bit of good discussion regarding the different types of planners and how they are paid.
Personal Finance in a Plastic Economy – The Simple Dollar has a great writeup on the state of personal finance in our largely electronic and plastic economy.
