Would you believe it if I told you that one of my fantasy football leagues has just opened up for the season earlier this week? It seems pretty crazy since it is only the middle of June but draft day is only a few months away! It is time to begin making predictions, read what fantasy pundits are saying about and talking trash to others in the league. This is the second year in a row I have received an unfortunate draft position, this year is the 5th overall pick in a 12-team league. So, while I waste a few hours this weekend reading up football you can have a more productive weekend by reading some of these great finance items from the past week.

Jeremy,
I had no idea you were a fantasty football player… something else we will have to talk about. I love sports, but have lost loyalty to any one professional team. The result has been 10 years of fantasy football and I love it. This year I also joined a fantasy baseball league. For the record, we even considered doing a July draft for football this year!
Art
Hey Art, I’m right there with you. This will be my 9th year partaking in fantasy football. The sport hasn’t been the same since. I’m still a Detroit Lions fan at heart but only because I love cheering for a pathetic excuse for a professional team.
And as an interesting side note, I actually met my wife thanks to fantasy football. In 1998 back in college one of my roommates decided to start a FF league and since I had never done it before I said sure why not. Well, for whatever reason there was one woman in the league and we met on draft day. The rest is history.
Now we are in one of the same leagues and we sit on opposite ends of the couch with our laptops streaming live stats every Sunday yelling at one another
