When folded in half, the smallest denomination is on the outside, as a nod to caution of showing what I've got, and because I find it easier to avoid spending when I see only a single or a five. I only carry a purse when I have to - it's amazing how many women's pants and skirts have no pockets - but I have found it easier to hand the right bill, lilke Spendthrift.
