		<description>Weakonomist, that&#039;s exactly how I use ETFs. They are great for shorter term trades and when you want to gain exposure to different areas or investment strategies that  might not exist elsewhere. 

But I agree, unless you&#039;re doing all of your investing in larger chunks of money, the transaction costs will probably outweigh any benefits.</description>

I am looking into ETF investing instead of stocks.  I can buy and ETF that shorts oil, or gold, which keeps me from having to actually short it myself.</description>
