Responding to Etta's post. Something is missing in your information. One gallon of propane converted to vapor = 270 cubic feet. If you divide 3,799.90 by 270, that equals 14 gallons of propane. 14 gallons of propane is certainly not $293. Also, you are purchasing propane as a metered gas similar to natural gas service (not by the liquid gallon), which has advantages and disadvantages. To make an apples and apples comparison, you need to be buying propane for home use in bulk (per gallon).
I found a website that has interesting information on propane installations, prices and payment plans, etc. The address is http://www.localpropaneservice.com.

I hear ya, our new house currently has propane as well, but we have a 500 gallon tank. Of course when we moved in it was on empty so that was quite a surprise when we had that filled up.

The bad news is that we waited until it started to get cold last year and filled up in September, right near the highest price for the year. Now we know better and will plan our purchase for this winter accordingly.

I put 250 gallons in the lakehouse tank a few months back. Not used to having a $400 heating bill come in all at once!
