Netflix - big fan. My reasons - it saves us money, as we don't need to have cable (yes, imagine that). It only makes sense if you watch more than three movies a month, which isn't that hard to do.

In some parts of California making low six-figures is not enough to live very well. You need to make at least $200K to live decently.
It's so difficult to reach that milestone!

You're right Brip Blap, it isn't so much a late start as a change in career path. Instead of jumping right into my field after college and getting the early experience under my belt, I tried something new.

Had the venture been successful, I would have shaved years off of the career path, but since it wasn't, it just shifted my focus. And it actually turned out to be a fantastic experience that altered my career completely. If I was doing what I set out to do in college, I'd be working 60 hours a week designing on CAD and making only half the money. So it all works out!

Don't think of the entrepreneurial path as a late start - I actually think that's worth trying. I've never tried it, personally, but I think everyone ought to try it once in this life. At least if you're going to try it, try it when you're young and have less to risk!

Thanks very much for the mention! I agree that SVB's article at the Digerati Life was outstanding.
