Books do make a great gift. I have an old copy of Treasure Island I received as a kid and am reading the same copy to my kids 33 years later. That’s not the kind of ROI you get with an ebook.

However if I had to choose an ereader I’d have to go with the Kindle, I like the fact that Amazon gives you wireless coverage at no additional cost, and that the Kindle has tremendous battery life.

I’m an avid reader, but I just cannot see myself using an ereader. I just love having a physical copy of a book. Maybe if I tried one I’d change my mind.

My brother in law runs a used book shop which deals in cheap used books AND rare books. Checking out shops like this may really be useful as a gift (either quantity for a low price OR one really cool rare book).

As a child I spent all my time with my nose buried in books, and I would have died to have an LED book light. So many nights I tried to read under the covers with a torch after lights out, and always got bust!!

Yes! Books are a great gift… Nothing like reading a book next to your loved one on Sunday morning with a cup of coffee, especially if you both enjoy reading!
