March 9th Friday Five – Profit Sharing Bonus Edition

This is the week that the amount of our annual profit sharing bonus is released and while I’m glad to see our company did well it is quite unfortunate that the bonus will come just in time to pay the taxes we owe on April 15th. That reminds me, I really need to get my taxes finished. So while I get started on those you can enjoy these great posts from the past week:

Payback Time for Payday Loans Contest Winner – Ben reveals the winner of this contest and shares two of the stories from real people who had used these services in the past.

Morningstar: The Best and Worst 529 College Savings Plans – I was going to make a post regarding this report but The Sun beat me to it. Not all 529 plans are created equal so choose wisely.

Big Government vs. Small Government in Auto Insurance – Lazy Man brings up an issue regarding auto insurance and different regulations from state to state.

When One Pound of Gold is Not Equal to One Pound of Gold – golbguru talks about gold as an investment and things to look out for if you are considering a gold purchase.

What Percentage of Your Portfolio Should be in Stocks? – Jonathan illustrates some common thoughts on how to determine how much of your portfolio should be in stocks as well as compares that with what some leading fund companies think.
